What A Proverbs 31 Woman Is Meant To Be

How many times have you heard about the Proverbs 31 woman and thought, it would be impossible to be like her, she is perfect, and there is no way to measure up to her so why even bother?

I’ve read the passages in Proverbs 31 many years ago and skimmed over them and tightly put them away. Why, because they are intimidating. But God has been tugging on my heart, molding me, and preparing me to embrace my role as a biblical wife.

Proverbs 31 is not meant to bring condemnation but freedom. It is something to celebrate.

Proverbs 31 Is not a Checklist

of what you’re not. It’s a

celebration of who you are.

The Jewish culture sees her as a woman of valor, and they encourage each other by singing over one another aloud on the Sabbath. These powerful passages in Proverbs are not meant to tell a woman she is supposed to be perfect. They are a celebration of who she is.

Let’s start celebrating and encouraging one another. God is looking for a woman who fears him. He is not looking at how clean your house is or how well behaved your children are. This kind of fear is one who is in awe of God.

Proverbs 31:30-31

“…a woman that feareth the Lord, she shall be praised. Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.”

God doesn’t want us to run away from him or his word. Ask him for wisdom in understanding these passages so you can start living your best you in him!

Will you read Proverbs 31 with me? Can I read these words over you to encourage you today?
